The Spanish saying “año nuevo, vida nueva”, literally new year, new life challenges us to renew and improve things as we start a new twelve-month cycle. 2026 will bring both good and bad developments. What will our reaction be? Hopefully, we’ll make the most of the good things, welcoming and acknowledging them. And we’ll try to face up to the bad ones with maturity and fortitude. We’ll aim for a good reaction whatever the challenge.

In addition to new developments, there will be the regular day-to-day happenings. Is it enough to just carry on as usual? Not really. It’s good to take stock. There are always things that can be improved in our fostering arrangements. We need to renew our vision. Yes. It’s essential. Both regular and unexpected events will require us to refocus and reconsider. It’s all about being welcoming and caring, living together peacefully, showing empathy and support, correcting, accompanying, rewarding and, basically, ensuring an effective upbringing. January is for supervising and discerning, confirming and improving. So as the new year begins we need to be clear-sighted: new year, new vision. Please join us. Thank you for your support as we enter 2026.
