Leaving money in your will to a charitable cause is a simple and powerful way of turning your sincere affection into real opportunities for the future. Including a legacy to a charity providing foster care to children of disadvantaged families doesn’t mean forgetting your own family. Even donating just a small percentage of your estate will contribute to the upbringing, wellbeing, housing and encouragement of those that most need it. It’s a free, personal and deeply supportive gesture that projects your concern beyond your lifetime and turns it into a future for others.

In this photo, taken a few years ago, we see Carmen behind our good friend Xavier Segur, along with other helpers. Xavier’s generous support and his appreciation of our Emmanuel Children’s Home while he was alive surprised and encouraged us. He surprised us even more, after his death, by leaving part of his estate to support our foster service. Xavier, along with the charitable foundation “Temps i Compromís” (“Time and Commitment”) and Trèvol Church in Barcelona, entities that he was involved in, are an inspirational example of love and philanthropy for us all.

Thanks to committed individuals, our charitable work can be sustained into the future, to continue to provide protection and new opportunities for vulnerable children. Find out more about remembering us in your will. Get professional advice and explain what you would like to do. It’s easier than you might think. You can decide now that your legacy will be more than just material goods: it can be a safe environment, support and a new beginning for children in need of a second chance in life. Xavier Segur’s legacy is just one example of those that our Home, the RIE, has received over the years. To serve and help is a privilege that brings immense satisfaction. Our thanks to each and every individual helping us, for their heartfelt solidarity.
