We remember well our not-too-distant PAST. What were our RIE Children’s Home calendars like, in years gone by? They had practical cookery tips for healthy meals. They actually had some very interesting recipes. Do you remember them? NOWADAYS we have thousands of cooking tutorials on the Internet. For a number of years our calendars were to hang on the wall somewhere conspicuous in peoples’ homes. More recently they have been desk-top ones, with attractive images and catchy comments. For the immediate FUTURE, our 2026 calendar will offer happy pictures of children with famous phrases dedicated to them.
But a calendar is not made for the PAST. It’s a tool for the present and the future. It helps us sort out our commitments and make arrangements for upcoming events. In our case it also serves to raise funds while reminding us, month by month, that our Children’s Home needs everybody’s PRESENT help in looking after the children now, and FUTURE assistance in paying for our new building. We live the present in hope. Thank you for remembering the future with us.
