Yes. Okay. We need to live in the present – neither get stuck in the past nor be hypnotised by the future. But the truth is that every time we have a reunion with former children of our Home, the “Resi”, remembering the not-too-distant past brings joy to our present circumstances. After all, we’re always preparing for the future, whereas our childhood, in spite of all its difficulties, is full of fond memories.
On this occasion it wasn’t one but two former residents of our Children’s Home that paid us a visit together: Aarón and María René. As always, we laughed a lot remembering their and other’s anecdotes. Although mixed in with all our delight was a sense of yearning. But it was great to see them again as adults, in that wonderful decade between 20 and 30 years of age, when challenges and difficulties are faced with enthusiasm and effort. We sow in infancy and reap in adulthood. And nobody can take away those happy memories.
