Following on as the decades pass
Children don’t count their age in decades. Adults, yes. A new decade is following on from the previous one. The twenties in the 21st Century look like they will be convulsed, with big upheavals in society, politics, economics, our climate and so on. Our challenge is to protect and bring up children and teenagers throughout a long and highly significant decade called childhood, which will be crucial for their individual lives and decisive for the future of society. We’re working on it, anyway.
The two decades of this century we’ve already lived through coincide with the current care team’s time in the job. We followed on from the previous carers, who served for the three previous decades. And now a new decade brings us new difficulties and challenges to be overcome in the coming years. Golden ages really don’t exist. We just have to carry on, constructively and purposefully. In the photo are two brothers currently at our Home, the “Resi”, with over a decade’s age difference between them, who are following on from earlier generations. And so it goes on.
